I am alarmed by the reports & videos showing the conditions faced by the Uyghurs. Human beings w/ shaved heads, blind folded, handcuffed, & shoved onto trains like they are cattle. This is eerily similar to the Holocaust videos we have all watched. “Never again” rings hollow.

The Qur’an (49:13) stresses racial equality & respect of human differences. Matthew (7:12) says “treat others how you wish to be treated.” Genesis (1:27) affirms that all human beings are made in God’s image. Racism is an offense against our Creator. We are one human family.

“Peace be with you.” Jesus offered this greeting to the disciples (John 20:19). The Qur’an (6:54) calls on the Believers to say “peace be upon you.” “Peace” is rooted in the Hebrew greeting of “shalom.” Three traditions. One message. Let’s not just say it, but believe in it.
