The criminals that lynched and set a female student alight in Sokoto, over allegations of blasphemy should be arrested immediately and tried for murder. They are murderous elements. Islām has nothing to do with them And their actions do NOT reflect, let alone represent Islām!
A Muslim doesn't support mob action either actively or tacitly by refusing to speak up. Take for instance, if an alleged criminal (thief, kidnapper, ritualist, rapist) is caught, the Sharī’ah stipulates that he/she be arraigned before a judge for trial.
Mob action is not the way of the Muslims. We are a people of law and order. There's no where in the texts of the Sharī'ah that jungle justice is permitted even on convicted criminals, let alone mob action against a yet to be convicted accused person.
