glorifying obesity is not a thing. it’s literally just fat people being happy with themselves and existing without hating themselves the way we’re expected to. idk why it makes ppl so mad

Disability aids that most people don’t think about: Stair railings Chairs and stools Automatic can opener Glasses Voice activated things like Alexa and Siri Grabber tools Navigation like Google Maps Pop Sockets for phones Plastic straws Not every aid is a wheelchair

"fat" isnt a bad word. "disabled" isnt a bad word. "autistic" isnt a bad word. i need you people to recognize this. it isnt the word it is just how you use it.

“The humanities are useless” is propaganda, designed to discourage young people from pursuing careers in literature and the arts because those careers are vital to a flourishing society. We’re reaping the results with a public that is compliant and ill-informed, as was intended.

I know I'm not the first person to say this, but it ABSOLUTELY matters if people in jobs that deal directly with vulnerable people - nurses, doctors, teachers, social workers - are bigoted because they are in a position to cause real harm to marginalised people in their care.

We had a grim BBQ at my aunt's house. We are a family of #Latinos We are all legal citizens, some of us are veterans, some are civil servants, and some of us are community volunteers. We sat and pondered what we would do should things get worse. 🧵
