Here is a nice post in @NaturePortfolio summarizing our recent findings on the chemotherapeutic CX-5461, written with @MinPAN47830227, @jakebatch11 and @TheBlanchardLab. cancercommunity.nature.com/posts/the-chem…
New paper out from our lab investigating the use of the putative RNA-POL I inhibitor CX-5461 in pediatric neuroblastoma. I believe this study represents a fantastic example of why the details of drug mechanism are deeply important for patient safety. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Our previous paper showed that variant rRNA alleles are conserved and exhibit tissue-specific expression (Parks et al. Sci Adv). We now show that a conserved rRNA allele in E. coli is upregulated under stress and can regulate gene expression and phenotype. cell.com/cell-reports/f…
In a new @ScienceAdvances study, @TheBlanchardLab and team found that each person contains a wide variety of #ribosomes. Study suggests that genetic variation of rDNA may affect the way proteins are built, linking to developmental disorders. bit.ly/2oJo51k
A paper just published in Science Advances, "Variant ribosomal RNA alleles are conserved and exhibit tissue-specific expression," reveals that the sequences of ribosomal RNA within the mammalian ribosome may be significantly more divergent than expected: advances.sciencemag.org/content/4/2/ea…
Crick and Reynolds is the take for pirates in mccutchen deal. @extrabaggs @PavlovicNBCS on it. i only wish tony watson was still with the pirates so he could have combined to form a crick and watson combo in their pen (nerd joke)
