I had thought the rumors of Sony and Apple working together related to the chance of Sony games on Apple’s platforms. I now think it was limited to this.

Well…maybe the fact that there’s no evidence for my point proves my point.

This nonsense about MetalFX being based on FSR is never gonna end is it?

Really hope this happens.

Looks like Apple's upcoming HomePod mini 2, AirTags 2 and Apple TV 4K are dropping tomorrow morning via press release!

I used the Call recording feature on iOS/macOS a while ago and it was functional but not especially accurate. I used it today and it seems to have gotten much better. I'm assuming Apple improved the model they use for it.

Why did no one mention the most important feature of Tahoe 26.1?

Obviously Twitter is terrible. No one denies that. Nothing with ever match the awfulness of Threads though.

It's pretty remarkable to me that the Geekbench scores are so closely grouped at the top. I don't recall seeing that with previous models. 30%+ over 4300 is crazy.

QC always getting credit for horizon wins. Any day now.

There's a chance this Snapdragon chip meets or exceeds Apple's A20 Pro in terms of single-core performance. Multi-core and GPU performance will likely outperform the A20 Pro as well. Will be crazy to see if it happens!

We use Swift virtually everywhere at @argmax, including as the core of our Node and Python packages. Given the recent progress on Swift for Android, we will test how feasible it is to build the core of our Android SDK in Swift and report back.

I'm seeing quite a few reviews or screenshots on the M5 (and indeed previous chips) of MX Power Gadget. In all the ones I've seen recently, cpu power is reported as higher than package power. This cannot be correct. Something must be wrong with the app.

Bro thinks x86 should get special Geekbench privileges to use special libraries in order to boost their performance. Pure hypocrisy.

Geekbench AI does use various backends.

An amazing amount of patience being shown by JFPoole here.

Most of the difference comes from ML workloads. Geekbench 6 uses AVX-VNNI (as well as AVX512-VNNI) to accelerate ML tasks. While Zen 4 supports AVX-VNNI, OpenVINO and oneDNN didn't use it until 2023 (the article you’re referring to was written in 2022).
