I’m also not sure why McCaskill is covering for the GOP by saying they “secretly think Trump is nuts”. Nobody cares. Trump is melting down our institutions and inciting division between people. At any time GOP could have checked him and choose not to. They’re accomplices.
Can we retire the word “provider?” “Clinician,” “healthcare professional,” “doctor’s and nurses”—all superior to “provider.” “Provider” commoditizes what we do—which is far from a commodity. Language matters.
What if instead of sending 5k troops to the border, we had sent 5k caseworkers to review + process visa applications? In addition to averting moral crisis, it also would‘ve saved enormous amt of resources. But we don’t talk about the financial recklessness of GOP admins, do we?

One of the great myths we must dispel is that academic medical centers are the end-all and be-all for great medical care. They certainly are amazing institutions and have their place. But plenty of great medicine, sometimes better medicine, being practiced elsewhere.
Maybe Trump only froze federal government workers' wages as a way to match private sector workers.
