Why the UK is financially broken, in a few simple numbers👇 We now pay £212 billion per year on on 'illness-related inactivity'. This is about 70 % of the ENTIRE INCOME TAX TAKE of the government. So 70p of every pound you pay in tax goes not to nurses, teachers, doctors,…

Quite a moment. The Mayfield review has calculated the lifetime cost of writing people off as long-term sick; it’s £1m in lost earnings for 22yo “with the state incurring a similar cost”.

When your income taxes go up, that will be because Rachel Reeves chose to raise public spending by £70bn last year. Not because of austerity, Truss, Brexit, the Pandemic or anything else. It's because Labour chose to raise spending so much. Choices have consequences. For you.

Everyone in their 20s I know is looking to leave. Those in finance are looking to Dubai, medics to Australia, coders to Lisbon. Salaries in the UK are too low, taxes too high, rent punitive. In a global marketplace, UK attracts unskilled young men and repels educated Brits.

If you think you hate living in a country with billionaires in it, you'll pretty soon find you hate much more living in a country with no billionaires in it.

This is unbelievably irresponsible. Whether or not Reeves actually tries to impose an exit charge, this kind of talk will prompt a dash for the door - and from a country that is already losing millionaires faster than anywhere except China.

As a psychotherapist, my opinion is that people should not be able to claim benefits for workplace anxiety. The treatment for anxiety is exposure, not avoidance. Allowing anxious people to avoid the very thing that causes anxiety traps them in a state of perpetual helplessness.

I want to champion British dads. Because how does modern Britain view fatherhood? Too often the answer is secondary, optional, even inconvenient. For decades, the role of dads has been insidiously downplayed. The message has been clear - you’re there if it’s convenient, but the…

Thanks to the Tories and Labour, if you claim Universal Credit Health, Universal Credit Housing and PIP, you now take home £2,500 more each year than someone working full time on minimum wage. There are around a million people who do just this. How is that fair?
