One easy way to deter folks from trying out a shiny new tool is by mandating them to signup before trying out any of the features. Am looking at you @warpdotdev
Any new project development that starts with "let's get you developers jira access before source control access" is doomed to fail in spectacular fashion
I like 'eventually consistent' as a tenant of architecture, but if it takes 10 days for my 'unsubscribe from everything request' to take effect, then something is wrong with your architecture.
Absolutely horrendous customer service @pizzahut I ordered a carryout instead of delivery, changing this should not be this hard. The store asks me to contact customer service, customer service wants me to talk to the store. What a joke! Pathetic service, never again
Very well written.
P.S. any manager who begins snobbering forth about how their kind of job satisfaction is "deeper, more meaningful" than an IC's job satisfaction sounds like the sort of parents who argue that people without kids have never experienced true joy. 🙃 charity.wtf/2021/01/23/que…

Reading the book "sw engineering at Google". This line hits home with me 'it is far more important to provide obstacle free brainstorming than to protect against someone wandering off with a bunch of markers'. This is so true in most places I have worked @aPudders rings a bell?
Here is the latest edition of @thoughtworks Tech radar. Happy to see @LitmusChaos listed in there.
Have you heard? ThoughtWorks Technology Radar Vol. 23 is out now. It's packed with exciting insights into the latest in tech. Check it out thght.works/2HJHYkZ #TWTechRadar.
I was watching a movie today which had a line "The First Guy Through the Wall Always Gets Bloody". That made me think about first version of a software. The folks who build it (the first time) always get bloody. There is just no stopping that. Am ready! Bring it!
Shout-out to engineers at @LitmusChaos. It is a great tool if you are wanting to foray into the choatic world of chaos engineering. I had so much fun testing the resiliency of the thing that we have been building for more than 2 years. Apparently it sucks! (No surprises there)
Every single project that I have been part of (that's more than what I can count with all my fingers) at some point the project managers bring up this topic 'let's estimate and have points for defects because we need to show velocity'. These days I just shut up and act deaf to it
