My daughter Lucy’s wedding on Saturday. A truly joyous day that will live forever in the memory
Finishing the London Marathon on Sunday. Was struggling in the heat at halfway so took it easy and made sure I enjoyed the experience on a glorious Spring day. No more road marathons for me - back to the trails and shorter distances on the road
Jubilee Stone Backwell - 11am Remembrance Sunday “Move him into the sun Gently its touch awoke him once ….If anything might rouse him now The kind old sun will know” from “Futility” Wilfred Owen
My 150th Parkrun last Saturday. No milestone T-shirt for this number, but all the joy of running on a fine, sunny morning
Great day out in the Quantocks with the lad. One of my favourite places to walk, particularly on a fine, clear day. “Upon smooth Quantock’s airy ridge we roved, unchecked…” Wordsworth
Final day of walking on the Dales Way from Burnsall to Ilkley, passing through the Bolton Abbey Estate
A superb day walking down Wharfedale from Buckden to Burnsall. Sometimes beside and sometimes high above the river
Ribblehead to Buckden on the Dales Way. Leaving the rugged drama of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to cross over to the softer scenery of Upper Wharfedale
Set out for a bimble from Sedbergh to Ribblehead on the Dales Way but couldn’t resist the temptation to gain some elevation on the Dales High Way
Fantastic weekend completing the Montane Lakeland 50 trail ultramarathon. Difficult to capture the scale and spirit of this event. Amazing camaraderie and support from organisers, volunteers and fellow competitors.
First T20 of the season at Worcester with the cathedral as glorious backdrop. A year ago this was the last thing I did with my brother Paul. At the time he was optimistic of having staved off the cancer which returned to take him just 3 months later. Remember the good times
18 miles along the Wye Valley Walk from Monmouth to Chepstow. After an initial bimble through riverside meadows, most of the time was spent in woodland, high above the valley, apart from the descent to Tintern
A serene 18.5 miles run/walk down the Wye Valley from Ross to Monmouth. Going on to Chepstow tomorrow
What a superb morning for Clevedon Parkrun. Makes up for all the wet and windy ones we’ve faced through the Winter
Gruelling but enjoyable day out yesterday taking on the 22 mile Exe to Axe trail race along the South West coast path
