Great to see such a big field for the first National Hunt Academy Hurdle at Cork today. Couldn’t be more in favour of them. Expect it to look very different to the British equivalent in terms of professionalism of the horses (🤞). More info here: hri.ie/HRI/media/HRI/…

Great to be back racing at @thurlesraces after we thought we’d lost it.

Got from Closutton to @NavanRacecourse just in time to see James J Braddock make a promising debut for @JosephOBrien2. He’s a handsome, imposing colt that is very much one for middle distances next year. Named in honour of a boxing legend, hopefully he can do it justice.

The launch of the Irish National Hunt season is taking place in Willie Mullins’ yard this morning. Spot your favourite. Stable tours will be published in due course. @AtTheRaces

Tennessee Stud gets the job done in the Prix Chaudenay at Longchamp. As well as his talent and toughness, he is a dream to be around as he has an exceptionally placid manner for a colt. Don’t be surprised if he’s the favourite for the Melbourne Cup this time next year... 🙌

“We were hoping he'd run well, but I don't think we were expecting that. He was very impressive.” As the Porta Fortuna chapter comes to a close, Barry Fowler looks forward to what’s to come, led by G1 Middle Park contender The Publican’s Son. @hought94 thoroughbreddailynews.com/sign-me-up-bar…

This is shocking news. What Wootton Bassett has done in recent years is off the scale and there was so much more to look forward to. What a terrible blow for the breed, as he was set to be one of the greats. 😔

A Listed winner ON DEBUT 🤯 Despite some strong form on show, Yaupon De Replay wins the €45,000 Blenheim Stakes on her first racecourse start. She MUST be very smart 🟢🟢 @simon_munir | @JosephOBrien2 | @Fairyhouse

Have been a long-time listener of this podcast, so it was great to join @jamierailton for a chat. We went in many different directions, but I particularly enjoyed chatting about how the skills learned in betting can be applied to bloodstock trading. open.spotify.com/episode/4r0Qkd…

Denis Walsh did a lovely job with this. Well worth a read.

The Publican’s Son bounced out of his debut in great form and @JosephOBrien2 is aiming him at the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 27th. He is pictured below with his regular rider Shane Crosse.

What a debut from The Publican’s Son! 😳 He ran to a Timeform rating of 101. I can’t imagine many 2yos have run to higher than that on debut this year. Bought by a great team at the breeze-up sale at Ocala in March for $200k. Very exciting! @JosephOBrien2

Three years to the day since Al Riffa won the National Stakes as a two-year-old, he wins the Irish St Leger in imperious style over double the distance. An unprecedented double?! He has already raced on three continents. Now he’ll look to conquer the fourth in the Melbourne Cup.
