Because calling it AI was a marketing decision. The real name is Large Language Model, which sums up how it works. It takes trillions of texts and uses them to create sentences that seem germane to your prompt. Nothing in there is "thinking" in the way you understand it.

ChatGPT-5 recommended a nail place with mani and pedi for $25-$30 - seemed too good to be true. I followed the link. The source? A 2016 article quoting those prices. That got me thinking: an intelligent person would look at the date and be like "Wow, that's 10 years ago.…

Vacant homes in the US: 15 million Median home sales price: $435,300. What someone would need to earn annually to afford a median-priced home: $121,000 Median salary in the US: $62,192 There isn’t a housing crisis. There’s a housing affordability crisis.

"Housing costs are the single biggest factor preventing Americans from having as many kids as they want, according to a recent report published by the Institute for Family Studies."

My course on using Google Earth Engine’s catalog of GIS data in Python goes live in October! I focused it on the research and analysis side of GIS programming. 😊

I stand by that Our ecosystems and habitats have value on their own. There’s value in our sageland, our deserts, even the areas which aren’t really roamed have value. Value shouldn’t be decided solely on how much money it’s worth

People use this map as a gotcha for how much land is public, but it just makes me sad for those in the eastern USA, like wym you can’t just drive and roam everywhere to the same degree we can in the west We have a fundamental difference in how we experience the land because of it

In what universe is my liberty enhanced by taking land I currently have access to and removing that access?

40% of the Land in the 48 lower states is owned by government. 96% of Alaska is owned by government. 50% of the West is owned by the federal government. America was founded on the idea that the people would own the land and therefore have the means to control our government.…

I believe our public lands policy should be exactly the opposite of this: The Feds should be buying private land to make public, breed herds of bison, restart annual migrations, unleash wolf packs, allow young men to gallop at full speed to put arrow through buffalo heart, etc

None of the places depicted would be eligible for sale under our bill. The legislation specifically exempts National Parks, National Monuments, Wilderness Areas, National Recreation Areas, and eleven other categories of federally protected land from sales to build much-needed…
