CELEBRATE 100: Today marks the 100th day of school across the district! At @ElkmontHS , Mr. Aderholt and his staff are celebrating by making 100 positive phone calls to parents and guardians about their student.
The sun wasn't the only thing shining bright on the baseball field at Ardmore High School on Tuesday. Laughter, high-fives, and home runs were plentiful as the Tigers special education class hosted Sparkman and Hazel Green for an adaptive baseball game.
ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES: Eighth grade students from across the District had the chance to engage with local business and industry leaders Wednesday as part of the Endless Opportunities Career Fair at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur.

In honor of the September 11th anniversary, students enrolled in the Public Safety Academy at the Limestone County Career Technical Center took time Thursday to not only remember those who lost their lives, but to honor those who made sacrifices that day as well.
Thursday was a special evening as we celebrated the incredible achievements of our English learners. We honored those who met their yearly growth targets on the ACCESS assessment, as well as those who successfully exited our English Language program. We're proud of them all!

OPPORTUNITIES AWAIT: Juniors and Seniors from across the District had a chance to explore post secondary options today during a College Fair hosted by Athens State University at the Alabama Veterans Museum.
In a strategic effort to enhance the areas of science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and math across the district, STEAM labs have made their debut in seven of our elementary schools to begin the new school year. Tanner Elementary introduced STEAM during the 22-23 year.
CLASS IN SESSION ✏️🍎📚: Buses are back on the road and hallways are full of students again! It has been GREAT first day back! We look forward to an engaging, enlightening, and empowering school year.

Our 5th grade students spent last week learning about cotton and the many uses of it. As part of their lesson, they took a field trip to the cotton gin at the Associated Growers Co-Op where they learned what happens from the time the cotton arrives until it's shipped out.

TALL TALES: Lots of laughter and cheers were heard across the campus of Athens State University this week as our students enjoyed the Athens Storytelling Festival.

THANK YOU: The last several weeks Jimmy Smith Buick-GMC, has been collecting school supplies for our students. Thanks to their efforts, Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse was able to deliver those supplies to Tanner Elementary School today.
