going forward, when you feel you have completed an exercise, please post it up on gist so we can evaluate it and give you some feedback.

and since the book seems to have finally gotten tough enough, lets slow down to having through chapter 10 done by sunday

so, chapter 7 seems to have given everyone some problems. it would be best if you could put your programs up on gist so we can look at them

for reference, this is a fully working grandma example. if you don't want to see the solution, don't look. http://gist.github.com/53816

@zr00cool hint: change your "while input != bye" to a "while (gets.chomp)" now you can examine the input and act differently if its "bye"

for future code questions, post your code here: http://gist.github.com and then twitter the link. make sure to save file like example.rb

With the confusion about loops here's another exercise: Create a loop that will find the sum of all prime numbers between one and twenty.

For any reference questions on ruby, there is a free book here: http://www.rubycentral.com/book It is only a reference, not a tutorial

so it seems that everyone has raced ahead and that 2 chapters is too slow. so for next Sunday, let's have everyone finish up to chapter 10

@zr00cool when you say switch variables, what do you mean? Can you give an example?

so since no one has said anything, i'm assuming the first two chapters were easy. we're going to make chapters 2 and 3 due by wednesday.

any questions so far? the first chapters are pretty quiet so i didn't expect much but the silence is deafening. should we speed up?
