This small home-use ‘Moving Panorama’ is like having a miniature Cinema theatre of your own. Unfortunately, we know extremely little about it other than its probably mid-19th century. Unknown maker. Below a ‘behind the scenes’ single crank view (known as a crankie). @SueTruman1

Beautiful, naturally affordable bungalow court homes. Why WAS it possible? “Built in the 1920s with no parking”. Why is it not possible today? Today’s Urban Planners require parking.

Pics of a bungalow court we just finished renovating. Took way too long & cost way too much (in fact, it's one of the projects that pushed us out of value-add). But, man, did it turn out well. Let's see how it rents.

You can do a lot with a little space, including the best of urbanism & design. Santa Barbara's Paseo Bonito comprises 6 homes on less than 1/3 of an acre. It has excellent scale, greenery, solid materials, terminating sitelines, rear loaded garages, shared communal space &more!

Another view on Vermeer comes to us from Anson K. Cross who was a painter, teacher and writer on the subject of art in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Cross theory on Vermeer is fascinating and to describe it best he created a ‘Camera Obscura’ of his own (below).
