I think it is unconscionable that ICE detained this guy rather than issuing him a notice to appear in immigration court. But the paperwork mentioned below that wasn’t filed is literally the paperwork that allowed him to stay legally. Failure to file the I-751 was a HUGE error.

This is utter propaganda and you have to make sure not to fall for it. There were dozens of deportation flights every single week over the last year and before that. Deportation flights never stopped. If they try to claim otherwise, they are lying to the American people.
