Wow. Students are standing outside the Tennessee House right now and chanting, “Fuck you fascists.” Young people are absolutely pissed off & we are about to give Republicans hell like they’ve never seenZ We aren’t forgetting this.

Had evaded Covid for 3 yrs until now. Thankful for the vaccines because although I feel absolutely terrible I’m able to be home and not the alternative

Jon Stewart just now: Republicans “haven't met a war they won’t sign up for and they haven’t met a veteran they won’t screw over.”

I’ve spent the last couple of days going back and forth with a right winger about abortion and holy hell

Was told today by two people that Dr Oz and Dr Phil are both intelligent scientists….I damn near laugh my face off

My Bio Father stabbed my mother 16 times in front of me when I was six. I sat next to her body for 8 hours. This was after he raped me. But go off Marg that “fake parents” are a danger and not the real ones.

Marjorie Taylor Greene called non-biological parents, “fake mom and fake dad” while ranting about “danger” to children in America.

Children shouldn’t die of COVID-19. Children shouldn’t get killed at school. Children shouldn’t get forced to bear their rapist’s child.

There aren't many physics concepts I feel like people *must* know but one I wish I could tell everyone and get them to really think about is that EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS IN THE PAST. Not just stars, not just galaxies, but everything. Changes your whole perspective!

Hold your hand up 12 inches from your face: you’re seeing your hand as it was a nanosecond ago. Everything you look at is, to one degree or another, in the past. The farther away in space, the more ancient in time.

Depressing to see Covid denial follow exactly the same trajectory as climate denial: > It’s not real > It’s real but not bad > It’s real & bad but there’s nothing we can do > We could do something but it would inconvenience us (& mostly help the more vulnerable) so not worth it

Real talk: being a scientist is the best thing in the world. Trying to figure out how the universe works. There's so much to figure out! It never gets old.

Some physicists theorize that gravity may be something like a hologram — a three-dimensional effect that pops out of a flat, two-dimensional surface. A conformal field theory to explain this phenomenon would need to exist independently of space and time. quantamagazine.org/symmetries-rev…

Symmetries Reveal Clues About the Holographic Universe | Quanta Magazine

Physicists have been busy exploring how our universe might emerge like a hologram out of a two-dimensional sheet. New clues have come from the symmetries found on an infinitely distant “celestial…
