I completely agree! I'm feeling more energetic than I have in months. I love getting new ideas from all different disciplines and then thinking about how I could incorporate them in my own courses.
Today @ITLC_Lilly #lillycon the plenary speakers are @KevinKelly0 and @LillianNave. Yesterday @LangOnCourse and @MDMillerPHD crushed it, and I was still reflecting on great sessions by @Metacog1 and @GeekyPedagogy. All exceptional presenters if you need an online webinar.
I'm so glad you're finding the book helpful. Metacognition really is the key to helping students analyze which specific strategies will help them improve their intelligence.
This is our FAVORITE resource for supporting students in STEM. We find that growth mindset is insufficient to improve performance alone. Students must be able to access metacognition to determine which learning strategies are effective, and change them if not. @Metacog1
Attention @asusols and @ASUTheCollege, this is a must-see talk for all biologists to learn more about structural racism and critical race theory. Please take the time to watch the talk so that we can make #ASU more inclusive and then tag 5 people to pass the message along!
If you were not one of 635 people who listened to @DrTRMorton talk about critical race theory this morning, you can watch it here: tinyurl.com/y28fl5qr. Science educators: you need to watch this talk. Pledge to watch it and tag 5 people to pledge to watch. #academictwitter

I had such a great time sharing with and learning from colleagues and student participants at the MBE Deep Dive Sessions. Thanks so much to Glenn and everyone involved for facilitating this amazing event!
Saundra Y. McGuire (@Metacog1) gives the audience at the #AACUSTEM conference reading and homework strategies to help students develop metacognitive habits of mind.
It’s not about how smart students are, it’s about knowing strategies to learn material. @Metacog1 provides a five step study cycle to help students learn material well enough to be able to teach it to others. #AACUSTEM
I agree that listening to Dr. McGuire @Metacog1 speak is inspiring and I wish I were there! Here I post a photo of the two of us taken when she visited @providencecol last year. My colleagues and I endeavor to pass along her metacognitive approach to learning to our students.
I had a GREAT time at Indiana State!
Thank you @IndStateCHHS for brining @Metacog1 to campus. Lots of great strategies to empower students in learning and metacognition! @isuathltraining @GamesKenneth @ISU_BCOE @IndStateOnline
