I'm not sure I emphasised this enough in the thread so I'd like to clarify how misleading this paper is. The paper admits that migrants contribute less than natives, however it claims the native population receive more in benefits. The native-born population receives more in…

1/ A new working paper claims that non-EU migrants in Europe have a less negative fiscal position than natives - in other words, that they contribute more relative to what they receive. Like every single one of these papers, the methodology is deeply misleading. 🧵

You run a thought experiment where Muslims are 25% of the population or 40% of the population or 60% of the population and you very quickly realize that these are nightmare scenarios in which the country as we know it ceases to exist. So why in the world would you say,…

The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker. And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows. No more.

People have this view of assimilation where it’s like, so long as you’re into sneakers and hip-hop and adopt the slang of American teenagers, then you are assimilated, but of course what we are really talking about is philosophy and religion and politics.

interesting to watch mehdi invent a muslim origin story in real time. he knows americans don't want an islamified continent, as we see in europe. so the goal is to marry muslim identity politics with our complicated racial history, and guilt us into submission.

Muslims did not build the United States. This is a completely crazy and weird thing to say, like saying that Jamaicans built Japan or something. Muslim population share in the US 1750: 0.1% 1800: 0.1% 1850: 0.1% 1900: 0.01% 1950: 0.05% 2000: 0.5% 2025: 1.6%

I think the combination is especially degrading. (Singing men’s praises but also treating it as improper or futile for women to imitate them.) This argument tacks towards “futile” and I think a reasonable response for a woman would be, “let me prove how manly I can be.”

Those pushing the propositional nation never mean it The first amendment can’t coexist with the idea of the propositional nation Either I have the right to express any political opinion because I’m an American or being an American means expressing a specific political opinion

If America is just “an idea” (as we are so often told by those opposed to defining it along ethnic lines instead), then of course there must be a political litmus test for entry. How could it be otherwise? You can’t have a “propositional nation” without a proposition to assent to

I’ve been reliably informed that Democrats are opposed to any kind of political violence, so I look forward to them universally condemning Zohran Mamdani for campaigning with an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorist plot that killed 6 New Yorkers.

This morning NPR interviewed Anthony Kennedy about his new memoir. Kennedy, maybe of all contemporary figures, is most emblematic of the radical progressive moral order that has captured American institutional life, a Reagan appointee who nonetheless famously wrote every major…

Death tax of this sort is a civilization-killer It destroyed Britain and will destroy us too if implemented here, as it is a caustic force that punishes thinking of one's progeny, of the long-term, of great efforts. It is instead the Third World Mindset as applied to tax, a…

Inheritance tax should be the most aggressive form of taxation and its not even close. Why should someone get to inherit billions because they were a rich mans orgasm

I can see why some minds are confused about anti-Indian sentiment. They see other migrant populations committing crime and using welfare and think "we are not on welfare or doing street crime, what's the issue?" Out-groups taking high paying jobs that should go to Americans is…

Indian immigrants have been an overwhelming net positive to American society economically, socially, and intellectually. 🇺🇸🇮🇳 There isn’t a shred of data to suggest otherwise. In fact, they are among the most law-abiding, educated, and entrepreneurial communities in the U.S.…

This is a nice encapsulation of the leftist worldview: "The destruction I'm engaging in is Very Important but for you to object to it is Very Silly"

The US outperforms everyone in education when you control for race. US Asians beat all Asian countries, US Whites beat all White countries (and even beat Korea!), etc. Before you try to solve a problem, first confirm it exists.

75% of 8th graders in America aren’t proficient in math & the average student in China is 4 years ahead of the average U.S. student. It’s time to get serious about fixing K-12 education.

There is a misunderstanding when it comes to impeachment of judges. You only need a simple majority in the house to impeach any judge. Once impeached, it goes to the senate where you need 67 votes to remove them. In other words, the House can impeach every one of these…

There’s a lot going on. It’s easy to lose track of important stories. But we can’t forget about this one. They let the man who stabbed and killed Logan Tipton walk free. This should be a rallying cry that sparks major systematic changes. There must be justice for Logan.
