I stopped calling 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 special right triangles because ALL right triangles are special to me. #trigonometry

As we move to the Digital P/SAT this year, I am looking to do a tutorial with students going over how to use all of the available functions on the @Desmos calculator. Before I create one, does anyone know if something like this already exists?

I’m giving my first test today. My new students just found out that they can 1. ask me clarifying questions during the test 2. make test corrections up to a week following and they are 😮

Here’s one for all of the “when will I ever use this in real life” naysayers. We’re putting in an above ground pool. There has been no small amount of geometry involved, but my husband’s homemade compass is my favorite part. #mathislife #lifeismath

“So you’re telling me that every time I’ve gotten a pie, it’s actually been two pies?!” …and that’s how teaching Circles is going. #geometry

There are hundreds of cognitive biases, but most of them stem from a failure to recognize that our beliefs are subject to biases. Defending our views stalls learning. Questioning them stimulates growth. The only belief worth cherishing is the belief that you might be wrong.

This program can change your life and your teaching practice! Also, it’s beautiful there. Such an amazing experience!

My kid is not “good at math” because of genetics. It’s because things like this are happening in our home. #mathteachermom #cribbage

Mathematics. You are only allowed to press TWO times — to receive a potentially nice monetary award. Which buttons do you press, and in what order?

Anyone know where I can get a poster like this? I like having these up in my classroom, but it is a little worse for wear. #iteachmath #mtbos

How many teachers does it take to do a subtraction problem? One, because it only takes one teacher to make a difference.

#MTBoS I am teaching one semester of #precalculus for the first time in a few years. If you were going to cover the “most important” chapters from this list, which would you choose? I can maybe get through four to five chapters. #iteachmath
