That being said, I wanted this thread to have a couple of takeaways: 1. You don't have to be a product of your environment 2. It's never too late to start something new 3. Don't let your past define you 4. Perseverance is invaluable 5. Always remember why you started this journey
I haven't been tweeting about my coding journey lately, but all the while I have been steadily studying, now have my #Javascript cert from @freeCodeCamp, and I'm halfway thru Front End Libraries, taking extra time w #React to make sure I get everything. #CodeNewbie #WomenWhoCode
🌸 Finished my review of the Basic JS challenges on FCC. They made more sense this time around, for sure. Already feeling better about JS. Think I need double exposure to new concepts to really get them. I seem to do better when I review stuff instead of charge ahead. Go figure😉
🌸I have been going thru @freeCodeCamp's basic JS again to see if I missed anything. I'm gonna redo all sections up to the dreaded algorithms & see if the review helps any. In doing this I now get the logic of an array.prototype so yay. Hopefully more stuff'll sink in #codenewbie
🌸Worked on @freeCodeCamp Basic Algorithm section and realized I am horrible at Javascript. I thought I was starting to get it but this section shows me how wrong that assumption is. Going to focus on media queries for a few days as a palate cleanse then try again. 😔
🌸finished Basic Data Structures but will have ro go over that again too. I am too distracted. I lost my sweet kitty yesterday & it's hard getting things done. I am incredibly sad. But I am going to keep going, at least it takes my mind off of the sadness a bit. This is Ticaboo..
🌸finished FCC Debugging with my sick kitty on my lap. Working on Basic Data Structures while she sleeps, taking up time before the final visit to the vet.😢
🌸Finished Regular Expressions tho I want to go over it again to make sure it gels. There are a couple of things I was unsteady about but overall it made more sense conceptually than the last time I attempted that particular Feat of Strength. Debugging is next! 🐣
🌸yesterday worked on ES6 FCC module and finished it this morning. Need to go over it again tho so I can make sure I understand the syntax better. Looking forward to Regular Expressions as I got stuck on them back when I was learning some Python. #CodeNewbie #womenwhocode

🌸Yay! Finished the Coursera js course. Final assignment looked daunting but I surprised myself. Maybe this stuff is starting to gel a bit? It was a nice little win & boy, I *really* needed that. Now back to FCC's js course & the Eloquent JS book. #WomenWhoCode #CodeNewbie
Been doing a Coursera course in js the last couple of days w my sick kitty resting next to me - not so great at keeping my days logged & numbered atm & my focus isnt fantastic but still going. Thank you so much for the support you've given. This is such a wonderful community 😻
Took a little break to try to clear my mind. Going thru FCC's full JS course on YouTube to figure out the same darn js problem. In the interim I lost 1 kitty w/another on the way out so concentrating is hard 😢 Still gonna try, w/sick kitty sleeping nearby so I can watch her.
