Hey early stage founders - next time an investor asks you "why can't Google or Amazon do this?", think in your mind that the investor asking you is already doing what 1000 others are doing. Keep calm and answer the question. Then choose the investor who "gets it"

So very true. We start our board decks with a performance balance sheet. Good and bad in equal measure. Board members are partners. Execution is hard. Unpredictable. Things are seldom 100% rosy.
A mistake inexperienced founders make. share good data & positive news w investors, and (sometimes inadvertently) under play negative data or not share it at all This will break trust AND you are setting yourself up to give a negative surprise in the future #GiveBadNewsFirst

The difference between HUL & Marico was that for HUL, Nihar was just one out of the other 20 projects they were operating but for Marico, Parachute was everything. HUL was trying everything in the book. It was deliberately undercutting Parachute & aggressively advertising Nihar.
