Thanks to @gilldeacon for an intense & productive COVID session on CBC Radio's Here and Now. One point to amplify: COVID is a vascular disease, NOT comparable to the flu: it attacks organs and destroys brain tissue. This happens in mild cases too. Take steps. Avoid it. Please.

I've tested positive for COVID on three rapid tests. Pretty sick, but doing okay. Here's the rub. I can't report my case to @TOPublicHealth unless I get a PCR, but there's no appointments for days. I don't want to go to a pharmacy for a test and endanger other people.
The test/trace/support system feels imperfect, and getting #COVID19 feels isolating. But there's something we can control. An individual choice to stay home, to prevent this virus from spreading to someone vulnerable — that's a small sacrifice for the common good.
For us, omicron hasn't been a quick, three-day cold. Sniffles turned to chest tightness and a cough. Got a puffer. Roughly a week into this, the fatigue has yet to fade, and my energy level ebbs and flows. What would this feel like for someone older or unvaccinated?
My experience was a big reminder that rapid tests only tell you your virus level in the moment. I was negative one day, positive just 48 hours later. Also, as I wrote this week, omicron seems to multiply rapidly inside your body. Things can change fast. cbc.ca/news/health/om…
