Sexual orientation OCD, Pure O, intrusive thoughts, Real Event OCD
Fear of fear can quickly become more of a problem than the initial fear it’s self. Fear of fear is subtle, so we often miss it. Often we think we are scared of something, but we actually fear the sensation of fear, we are running from ourself!
The worst ocd theme to have, is the one you’re currently in. #ocd #intrusivethoughts #pureO
OCD recovery takes persistence, practice, understanding and time! These ingredients equally play a vital part in the recovery process.
When my ocd is quiet, the days seem to fly by. When my ocd is persistent again, it makes me feel like “I didn’t appreciate those days and I should have cause now I’m screwed”. Anyone else feel like this? 😅😞
I realised years ago in forums I didn’t want to become “OCD is hell, you just have to put up with it for the rest of your life” which I saw in most posts! I wanted to be “I have recovered & learnt so much from my journey!” #hope
The OCD recovery journey feels hard, you are not alone. #hope One day at a time!
Yes, you can. And you will. OCD recovery is possible. One day. One exposure. One shaky step forward at a time.
The chase for a simple solution is part of the problem. If OCD recovery was simplistic very few would be stuck.
When you can’t relax with meditation don’t beat yourself up, how easily would you be able to relax in the 🛀 knowing someone is breaking in downstairs? The 🧠 is fixated on a threat, work to bring that down, as anxiety tends to cut through relaxation techniques like a hot 🔪 🧈
Uncomfortable facts about OCD recovery- -OCD recovery isn’t easy -OCD recovery takes longer than we would like -Most people don’t understand OCD or recovery -Setbacks tend to feel like square one -Meds take the edge off but don’t cure -It feels as real as it can get
How you feel today doesn’t equal forever, I can’t reiterate this enough.
