There’s one thing that can happen that would make this Black History Month extraordinary.
1. They talk to us condescendingly, as if we’re children or ignorant. 2. They expect us to sacrifice work–life balance because they do. 3. The wages simply aren’t livable 4. The work environment is toxic, and they resent us for calling it out.
Because half our paycheck goes to rent, the other half goes to bills, and what’s left is vibes, anxiety, and a group chat joke about “we’ll be rich one day.” Hard to be happy when survival costs a subscription fee.

Fun fact, it’s estimated to cost between $11-$30 billion to end homelessness in America. Our lawmakers still haven’t found the funds for that but they’re funneling $75 billion to ICE’s budget.
Reports of unhoused people having frozen to death over the last week are trickling in. Dead under a bridge from the cold in the richest country of the history of the world. This was preventable. This is a policy choice our government chooses every day.
