A major difficulty in academia is that feedback is incredibly sparse; e.g., reviews come out only months after a project's paper is submitted. For PhD students this often means that they have to rely on the feedback by their advisor(s) / senior collaborators during a project.

That's why attending workshops at those @_LXAI @CVPR @ICCV_2021 and other major #AI conferences is so important @3scorciav... Doing research can feel lonely sometimes (especially in LATAM) and having a supporting community makes all the difference!

🎈So excited to officially "launch" the Balloon Learning Environment (BLE)! The BLE is a high-fidelity simulator of the complex task of controlling stratospheric balloons (as explored in our 2020 @Nature paper go.nature.com/3dtvrPr ) 1/🎈

Read about the open-source Balloon Learning Environment (BLE), where deep reinforcement learning is applied to create high-performing flight agents that control stratospheric balloons under real-world conditions. goo.gle/357Y1Ff

I recently interviewed w/ @youyuxi on his latest gift to the web-underbelly-verse @vite_js! Vite is pushing the abstraction boundaries in the right direction while not holding back power users - it's a new goal post for turnkey delightful dev tooling. 1/2 jsparty.fm/212

We need to start normalizing that software engineering can be a 9-to-5 job. It's ok to not live, eat, and breathe tech 24/7. It's ok to be in tech bc it's a lucrative job that pays the bills. You don't need to be passionate about tech to be in tech.
