There is no living memory of world war. And all the incentives are for escalation. In the literal sense: people get clicks and make money for advocating war. Media and social media corporations set traffic records. Decisionmakers feel important. The consequences may be dire.
It's been less than two weeks since the war began and I think lots of people have already become comfortably conditioned to this new reality without really understanding that this is just the beginning of something really, really horrible.
