“'As if a poem is what’s at the bottom of a bunch of bees….' Fauth reminds us that etymology makes legacy, and sometimes, context is lost, leaving us with myth.” From review of @ttupress, A Dream in Which I Am Playing with Bees. Read here: buff.ly/3ubDI6q

i have lots of mixed feelings about _The Road_ but near the end of the book mccarthy writes how the dad increasingly has trouble talking with his son bc the referents for words have disappeared and that's one of the most gutting things I've ever read. this poem does that too.

The display was curated in collaboration with the artist and creator of UNPRECEDENTED, RK Fauth, and Dr. Maggie Fritz-Morkin (@mfritzmorkin) in the Dept of Romance Studies (@RomanceUnc) whose students contributed blackout poems to Fauth's project in the fall of 2021.

The UNPRECEDENTED project is a public art project that uses Bocaccio’s Decameron as a way of illustrating the impact of the global pandemic had on people. 30 poems from this project, many made by UNC undergraduates, are currently on display at @WilsonLibUNC.

When RK Fauth, Founder of The UNPRECEDENTED Project, invited me to participate in the worldwide erasure challenge, I was beyond thrilled! :) I worked on p. 455 of 'The Decameron.' If found poetry is your jam, definitely check this out: unprecedentedproject.com/gallery/featur…
