We might be witnessing the collapse of ESPN into a niche SEC streaming service right before our eyes. Epic failure with ESPN Bet, and their bet to gouge YouTubeTV isn’t paying off either. Good riddance.
BREAKING: ESPN and Penn Entertainment are ending their sports betting partnership. After signing a 10-year, $2 billion deal in 2023, ESPN Bet will officially shut down next month (with eight years left of the initial agreement).
I still stand with YouTubeTV. I don’t miss ESPN, and won’t miss it.
ESPN/ABC are playing with fire. Giving people a chance to live without them runs the risk of coming to the realization — that they can live without them. Make your deal with YouTube and get on with things.
