Happy Father’s Day to all the trinket manufacturers of the world!
Here @abcnews, fixed it for you. This was not the “Labor party” doing this — it was the federal government, announced by a minister. @ABCmediawatch
So it appears the TLDR for the latest massive exploit of 2022 boils down to the system bypassing password checks if the password is not provided 👀
Love this response. Remember peeps, information security extends beyond technical controls. Use MFA, keep your bullshit detection skills highly tuned, assume it's scam.
Password complexity when users get phished
I love the idea of introducing users to software like players are introduced to games.
In this short video, Game Designer Dan Emmons gives a lovely introduction to the thoughtful interaction design patterns built into the very first level of Super Mario Bros. youtube.com/watch?v=ZH2wGp…

Oof... this just gets more and more interesting. Okta provides authentication for enterprises, so a breach of Okta is bad, really bad. They appear to have been breached but are claiming otherwise.
The LAPSUS$ ransomware group has issued the following response to Okta's statement.
Why programmers hate working with dates.
Javascript and Swift apparently disagree about when January 1, 1 AD was. (Both numbers in milliseconds-since-1970) JS: -62135596800000 Swift: -62135769600000 These two numbers are exactly 48 hours apart. Can anyone explain what’s going on here?
Hey fellow tech friends. With the situation in Ukraine as it is, the ACSC is warning us all about increased threats of hacks from Russia and has asked we share this widely — stay vigilant folks cyber.gov.au/acsc/view-all-…
I hear #4Corners has a pro-LNP episode. I’m looking forward to voting out this rotten government like everyone else, but respectfully, not watching the ep because it doesn’t align with your views demonstrates the same behaviour as the “uninformed right” you’re campaigning against
This. Our way of dealing with people who hold different views must start with more generosity and respect. Start with “why do they think differently to me?”, and not, “they’re stupid” or “they’re intentionally spreading lies”.
The claim @joerogan & guests are "intentionally spreading misinformation" is wrong: they don't think what they're saying is misinformation—They think they have a valid point. They may be wrong but that's different. Instead of accusing them of lying explain why facts say otherwise

Amazing art

This deserves a read. It’s long, detailed and a little bit scary. But I think we need a little bit of scary right now to shake off the complacency.

Watched #DontLookUp last night. I enjoyed it, just my kind of quirk.
Here is your complete (?) collection of dinosaur meteor extinction cartoons. 🧵 With love and rage and gratitude to the cartoonists, and to the makers of #DontLookUp.
Something remarkable from the @nytimes this day: an account of how climate change is damaging each of the 193 member nations of the UN. This is the kind of journalism we need nytimes.com/interactive/20…
What an amazing speech by Greta. She really is a once-in-a-generation leader and a great orator.
“Many are asking what it’ll take for people in power to wake up. But let’s be clear - they’re already awake. They know exactly what they’re doing. They know exactly what priceless values they’re sacrificing to maintain business as usual.” My speech from today’s march in Glasgow.
