Effect of bulb set size for mechanical planting on a Vidalia onion grower’s field! From left to right, bulb set sizes A - B - C. UGA research have shown B and C are the best option, while size A reduces crop development and yield!

The system that is going to develop in the Gulf this weekend is starting to look interesting. While it is definitely not tropical, it will have similar impacts as a tropical storm: fairly low pressure, several inches of rain, winds possibly gusting to 30+ mph over land.

Our @FDACS inspectors recently found the ToBRFV virus in tomatoes imported from Mexico. This virus doesn't impact human health, but could seriously harm Florida's tomato industry. We need @USDA to initiate tracebacks to Mexico & help us protect growers. news4jax.com/news/florida/v…
Nice video of a harvest aid in action! This is the first harvest, so only a few plants have harvestable heads yet. Deciding when to take that first pass is one of the many practices that need to be done well to be a profitable broccoli producer. From eastern England, not US.
Broccoli harvest for 2019 has now begun!! With the mild weather through the spring and irrigation we have been able to start harvesting in good time. The first variety we are harvesting here is Ironman. #broccoli #farming #harvest2019 #pollybell #organic
