Sure, sure call me a radical, but basically I think that public health has an ethical responsibility to report actual science, not control public opinion. That means reporting the fact that many respiratory viruses are transmitted through contaminated air. Air we control.

Firstly, dear god. Secondly, if you’ve been looking for the reason why millions upon millions of people just feel “off” but can’t quite put a finger on where or why- Take a Xanax and grab a cup of something warm and soothing and read this thread. (And follow tern.)

I think we've let the damage that covid infections do to *linings* slip into the background of all the other problems that covid infections cause. I think this may be a *big* problem.

I want to share with my followers some insightful analysis of how and why we are failing to defend our democracy from Trump's onslaughts against all our civic institutions. Thomas Edsall wrote a very important NYT op-ed today where he asked several professors to explain

Ok folks. You've maybe heard the word methylation recently, and while people are talking about it as if it's a big deal, you don't have the faintest idea what it means. Let's change that.

I tried to warn you. Letting Covid rip wasn't just about letting Covid rip. It was a step in the process to remove all safeguards for your health and safety. And now a Koch industries connected congressman introduces the bill to destroy OSHA.

Compilation of what happened in Valencia, Spain. The government failed to warn us. We even sent the kids to school this day. The result of incompetence can go up to loosing lives.

Living through climate chaos would be a lot less dispiriting if the countless recoveries costing endless billions didn’t consist of putting everything back exactly the way it was. They’re going to refill these streets with cars just so they can be washed away again

As the waters recede it’s not hard to see why so many have lost their lives in and around Valencia. Recovery will take years and cost billions.

Further to this: I fully acknowledge that it’s probably really hard for a lot of people to think about Covid being worse than the general consensus because a lot of people were really, really scared of Covid. They think masks don’t work so in their minds, there is NO hope.

Don’t let the fact that you have been wrong about Covid this whole time prevent you from being on the right side of it now. Come on, it’s clear the virus is fucking people up. There is no pride in letting a virus kill you because you are too obstinate to admit it was a mistake.
