A year ago, Donald Trump took office. Today, America is weaker, poorer, less respected, less free, less equal, more corrupt, more cruel, more afraid, more divided, and more isolated. Trump First has meant America Last.
More fundamentally: It's not simply whether voting for Trump makes you a bad person, it's that Trump himself is so obviously a bad person and wholly unfit that choosing to vote for him is an act that fundamentally alters how the rest of use assess your character forever.
Trump supporters are bad people, all of them, to the last. They deserve Trump, but the rest of us don't.
I had a taxi driver tonight tell me that he thinks 20-30% of all disability benefit claims are fraud. I told him the actual figure was around 4%. He didn’t believe me and changed the subject. The thing is the actual figure is less than 1%, but I knew he wouldn’t believe that.
