Being a good witness for Christ isn’t about having all the answers, but helping people to see and connect with Jesus. Jesus does the converting, a good witness just helps to arrange the meeting. Sometimes your best line is, “Come and see!”

The highlight was the baptism of eight adults, all former Muslims, who had been discipled and catechized over the past year by Pastors Böcek and Coşkun. It was a moment of great rejoicing and a testament to the living power of the Gospel, even in an Islamic land.

Preachers, we proclaim “the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Eph. 3:8). What greater privilege and what greater subject could we devote our lives to?

Church membership is not a negotiable part of healthy spirituality. If you’re united to Jesus by faith, you’re also united to the rest of his body. We were never meant to be connected to Jesus while disconnected from his church.

Seeker-sensitive worship focuses on meeting the self-perceived needs of its target audience. It crafts the liturgy based on what people want for themselves. As it turns out, many men and women today don’t believe that their greatest need is the forgiveness of sins.

It’s important to distinguish between the essence of a worship service – its core elements – and the circumstances that attend worship. Too often we can minimize the elements of worship, while focusing on our circumstantial preferences.

Since ministry never ends in this life, we should prepare ourselves for hardship on the regular. Still, for every trial there are dozens of encouragements. We need to train ourselves to stop fixating on trials and on what else could be done and simply enjoy the fruit of ministry.

Hello friends. Happy Lord's Day! Here's an update on how Gus is doing today: Over the last 12 hours, we've struggled managing his blood pressure while on ECMO. It could be any number of things: fluid balance, his heart actually improving against ECMO, not getting good sleep…
