This is such an exceptionally sad, depressing turn in Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool story. Feeling like the club have thrown him under the bus, admitting he no longer has a relationship with Arne Slot, that it “seems like someone does not want me” at Anfield, and is strongly hinting…
Just watched Howard Webb desperately trying to find a way to justify ruling out Van Dijk's header....the fact these people run one of the most impactive organisations in football is scandalous. They need shutting down and replacing. It's beyond a joke
Howard Webb defends decision to disallow Virgil van Dijk goal nytimes.com/athletic/67942…
That audio from the officials at the Etihad on Sunday after Van Dijk's goal was ruled out is remarkable. Assistant VAR Tim Wood: "It's a clear and obvious action which clearly impacts the goalkeeper." VAR Michael Oliver: "Yeah, confirming the on field decision. Andy Robertson…
Saw a lot of talk about Liverpool getting themselves into the title race by winning today but the fact is this team just isn't close to good enough. Issues with build-up, physical duels, and pressing all on show today, and now an eight-point gap to the summit. Title defence over.
FT: Man City 3 #LFC 0: A chastening afternoon for Liverpool. All the positivity generated by those wins over Villa and Real Madrid washed away. Big decisions went against them but they were their own worst enemies. Heaviest PL defeat of the Slot era. Defensively so poor.
The rule is that the obvious action has to clearly impact on the ability of an opponent to play the ball. Donnarumma saw the ball all the way through - even without Robertson ducking - and just couldn’t get there. The fullback’s movement didn’t change anything.
#MCILIV – 38’ The referee’s call of offside and no goal to Liverpool was checked and confirmed by VAR – with Robertson in an offside position and deemed to be making an obvious action directly in front of the goalkeeper.
You could argue Liverpool were unlucky with the way Haaland's goal went in, their disallowed goal, and a deflection. But anyone who watched that half knows they were dominated. You have to play so much better than this to have half a chance of winning at Manchester City.
HT: Man City 2 LFC 0: Liverpool have a mountain to climb at the Etihad. Hard to believe this is the same team who beat Real Madrid five days ago. Miles off it so far. Some big decisions have gone against them but defensively poor with Haaland and Gonzalez capitalising.
45+3' - Goal for Manchester City. Nico González. [2-0] #MCILIV
Wirtz on the wing is a waste and arguably at fault for the goal.
Got to say that is a joke. Keeper is at full stretch and Robertson isn't interfering with play. Another shocker
'Making an obvious action' Robertson ducked out of the way of it.

Really not sure about that. Robertson stood offside but he ducks out of the way and Donnarumma is never, ever saving that.
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VVD 1-1
Haaland penalty..... Saved by Mamardashvili!!!!!!!!!!!!
