26 days, 8615 miles later at 5pm local time the Danger Cart cruises across the finish line.
Danger Cart has developed a hole in the exhaust. Sounds like a proper racer.
5. It is no good printing maps in english when road signs and local understanding is in cyrillac. This also applies to lonely planet.
4. Mongolia is awesome. Stunning scenery, bad roads and is like one big camping ground. It is truely incredible.
Even when it was crashed it threw its chasis in the way to save its radiator. It will forever remain my favourite car.
3. Danger Cart is the perfect vehicle. Completely dominatant in all conditions including torrential rain, searing heat and 4x4 only tracks.
2. If we were to attempt the rally again we would take way less stuff and would be riding vespas. Would take a while longer.
Thoughts as we chew up final miles to ulaanbaatar: 1. Border gaurds all attend same comedy school. Excited by robinson crusoe and bruce lee.
Hit tarmac for the first time in 6 days. Good camp on side of hill. Saw flare go up across valley which was concerning.
Vultures bigger than welsh seagulls feeding on cow carcass.
Locals invited us into ghert for tea, cheese and vodka. Vodka tastes like petrol.
Horrendously lost in the mountains. Very pretty. STFR wants to take Danger Cart up motor bike track over hill. Others not so keen.
So far have seen two very unhappy teams on the hell bus. This place murders cars.
Similar to the beetle that followed top gear through Africa there is the hell bus that follows teams through Mongolia...
