Comparing fines leveled at multimillionaires with those leveled at indigenous activists fighting to throw off the chains of colonisation and gain the rights promised to them in 1840 is pretty fucking stupid. You would know that if you studied our history at all.
For those crying in supp of Te Pāti Māori - In the NBA, a league built for entmt , a player was fined US$75K for making finger gun gestures. If you’ve strong arg, u shouldn’t need to rely on intimidation. Esp not in Parliament, where free speech & civil debate are fundamental.
Excellent piece by Simon Wilson, the walls are closing in Mr Luxon...
I cannot underline enough that HALVING the operating allowance can only be read as an intentional attempt to destroy the country given the conditions that the National coalition have, again, intentionally created over the last 18 months There should be zero argument about this
I will never forgive NZ media for their failure to listen to, stand with, or even REPORT ON Palestinian journalists while Israel murders them as part of their genocide in Palestine.
Incredible work by @NZGreens to get this into coverage rnz.co.nz/news/political…

🚨 The promised footage of Destiny Church head Brian Tamaki confirming he gave the order to church elder Talā Leiasamaivao on 15 February to storm the library inside the Te Atatu Community Centre and shut down a children’s event being hosted by drag king Hugo Grrrl. Tamaki goes…
As the government cuts the salaries of lowest paid workers from a living wage, to the minimum wage - which is an unlivable wage, it's good to remember this is the same government that accepted a 10% increase on their highly generous wages. rnz.co.nz/news/political…

Pay bump for politicians: What you need to know
Explainer - MPs are about to get a pay bump, but is it fair and how does it compare to other countries?
People should stop attacking me for making predictions like this, but very few of them ever even resile from their stances or consider that maybe they shouldn't get so rabid about it National now openly beginning the privatisation move off the back of their initial failures
This is a threat to New Zealand’s democracy. stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360604…
rnz.co.nz/news/political… I'd just like to point out Seymour dropped everything to do an interview with an American youtube channel 2 hours after getting a press request, he's just fucking Erica about.

The Education Minister and the Associate Education Minister have once again had to reschedule a meeting to discuss the school lunch programme, due to a diary clash.

Still waiting for that big Tim Jago / ACT party / David Seymour investigation from any NZ media Still waiting for ANY sustained pressure at all Do NZ media support sexual assault??
In which Stuff's version of "balance" is David Seymour's version getting 2/3s of the story vs the entire Principals Federation We're well past this being about giving "both sides" to a story. NZ media is openly in the corner of far-right privatisation stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360595…

Seymour asks ‘how would you like 11 free butter chickens’ in response to school lunches criticism
ACT leader says many children are writing in saying the meals are better now than they were last year.
Yes folks, cutting Govt investment and sending the economy into a prolonged slump will force RBNZ to drop interest rates faster and lower. It's a genius plan if your primary goals are a smaller state and a desperate, powerless workforce 🫡
The RBNZ’s 50 point cut is great news for every firm, farm and family in New Zealand. It is the result of the Government managing its finances tightly like they have. Now the Government must keep cutting to keep the interest rate relief coming.
