Today, a lot of old Black men will be rooting for the KC Chiefs. It has nothing to do with Taylor Swift, a Black QB or Travis Kelce's pioneering haircut. It's about HBCUs, Black history, a kidnapping & white affirmative action. How Racism Invented the Super Bowl A thread.

I've been saying for some time that the Gaza war will be a hinge moment, because it does away completely with pretenses. It's laid bare Europe's moral obtuseness and selective self-righteousness. Nothing new there, but for it to be so blatant, it almost takes your breath away.

Christmas sermon in Bethlehem "To our European friends. I never ever want to hear you lecture us on human rights and international law again. And I mean this. We are not white I guess. It does not apply to us according to your own logic."

When we mistake emotional pain with moral clarity we burn the world while believing that we're lighting the way.

I cried today. Surrounded by 150 Jews, mourning the death of both Palestinian & Israeli civilians, I sobbed. Death will not bring peace. Continued occupation will not bring liberation. Bombing Gaza will not make Jews safe. May our hearts be big enough to grieve all death.

An @NBCNews investigation found that foreign workers hired by private contractors on U.S. military bases have been paid less than promised, charged recruiting fees that leave them deep in debt and pressured to work long hours. nbcnews.to/3ff47Jg

Big Pharma and corporate health care lobbyists fight tooth and nail to protect their profits. We will not be able to enact Medicare for All until we get big money out of politics.

Trump was made president by the rules of the constitutional system, not by "the American people," who voted against him by a margin of 2.7 million. A president who owes his job to the rules of the game is poorly positioned to complain about the *other* rules of the game
