Remove Country Cap - SAVE AMERICA | OHIO - State 6/50
My name is Muhil, and I first came to the United States when I was 2 years old. Despite living here lawfully for two decades, I did not receive my green card with my family because I aged out.
When are you marking this up? And put it up for a floor vote? Oh wait, this is your annual #H1B drama with @ChuckGrassley
Ralph Nader, you are lying – shame on you! I personally provided almost all Tesla funding, based on my proceeds from PayPal, from Series A in 2004 until Series C in 2007. In late 2008, I gave Tesla the last money I had. It was that or the company would have died. We closed that…
Where high skilled immigrants are punished for where they are born. Where documented children are excluded from benefits because their parents followed the law and are forced to age out and self deport and 21. .@POTUS .@FLOTUS .@VP .@AliMayorkas .@WhiteHouse .@WHCOS .@DNC .@CNN
If Biden Administration actually cares about high skilled immigrants, they should consider allowing immigrants w/ approved I140 & their families to file I485 every year in October when no GCs for the fiscal year are allocated & are thus theoretically & legally available to anyone
Please RECAPTURE UNUSED VISAS wasted and help reduce the employment based visa backlog @uscis @vp @uscisDirector @doug_rand @NeilMakhija @ajainb
I think 100th time both actor started lip service drama 😀
We created this image in 2020, unfortunately it is sad reality even in 2022. #GCbacklog families should start questioning their constitutional representative to achieve equality. @RepZoeLofgren and @SenatorDurbin call themselves savior of immigrants and does nothing. #EagleAct
Dems didnt bring eagle act for vote. Stop blaming the GOP for all your failures. Republicans got S386 passed in house and senate. Dems didnt even get to starting line.
#EagleAct was a bipartisan Bill that would have brought equality. @RepZoeLofgren @LeaderHoyer did not keep up the promise to get #Hr3648 for voting. 150-year wait to get a green card: Indian H1B visa holders hold protest in Silicon Valley news.yahoo.com/150-wait-green…
@RepZoeLofgren your constituents are marching in CA asking for Equality. These are individuals and family who are residing in US more than a decade and waiting. Keep up your promise #EagleAct. @LeaderHoyer @SpeakerPelosi Thanks to @KPIXtv for coverage. youtu.be/p_wLYK8I6xk
It is unfair to punish hard-working immigrants for their country of birth! #HR3648 = Curb H1B-abuse = More jobs for Americans! Indentured Servitude of Skilled immigrants must end now. @SpeakerPelosi @LeaderHoyer @RepZoeLofgren Do not disappoint us. #EagleActBetrayal #PassHR3648
18. This is bad for the migrant high-skilled population, for American skilled workers, and also for American economy. Data shows that removal of such National-origin discriminatory caps will result in raising the average wage of an employment-based immigrant by ~12%.
17. What has evolved is a skewed, exploitative system in which, US employers have to increasingly rely on “temporary workers” over American workers , and folks being entirely reliant on their employers for documented status, are subject to abuse from bad employers.
16. Under the 7% cap, the same number of GCs are allotted to those from India as to those from Denmark: 9800. This leads to Indian migrants- despite being highly-skilled- have significantly longer wait times than others. This has led to over a million people in the #GCbacklog.
15. Consider this. The population of India is over 1.4 billion accounting for nearly 18% of the world population with an even higher percentage of the high-skilled global workforce. Compare that with a country like Denmark, which accounts for 0.001% of the world population.
14. If we do the math, there are a total of 140K GCs in the EB category/year (amounting to approx. 14% of total GCs issued per year). 7% of 140K is 9800. Therefore, individuals from each country get a grand total of 9800 green cards per year in the EB category.
13. Enter ‘numerical per-country caps’. An archaic and outdated system be blamed, US immigration caps the number of green cards that can be issued to individuals from a single country annually to 7% of the total available GCs in a given category that year.
