I don’t know if anyone still cares, but today alone 28 people were killed, among them my friend and his family, without any guilt. This is no longer breaking news, but a scene that repeats itself every day. They talk about a ceasefire, yet what we live through is continuous…

Begging you not to let Wael’s story get lost amidst all the horrors. He was a 30 year old disabled man. His dad was his full time caregiver. ICE took him away. Wael said it would kill him. He said the fear was “real & immediate”. He died last week. ICE killed Wael.

ICE detained this father who was the caretaker to his severely disabled son. His son has died since his father was taken into detention. Disabled people and their families are uniquely vulnerable to ICE’s barbaric abuses

It’s almost like an initial, prioritized opportunity for specific parties before an open competitive process begins. Hmm.

Before you say "oh the poor landlord," be aware that Pinnacle Realty, which owns this slum, was just offered $451 million for their portfolio of mostly rent stabilized buildings. This is a company with tremendous wealth that speculated in stabilized real estate!

Let's cut through the shit. Real estate spent millions trying to stop tenants + Zohran and lost badly. Of course MAGA + landlords are attacking Cea Weaver. They know what's coming: a rent freeze and a new era of tenant power.

This landlord bought rent-stabilized buildings at speculative prices on the hopes of evicting rent-stabilized tenants and changing the units to market-rate ones. Then the law changed to protect tenants, and the investment failed. That’s life! Landlords bear investment risk too!

This apartment is rent stabilized at $985 a month in Flatbush. Because of a 2019 law that Mamdani supports, they can't raise rents after bringing this apartment up to code so they can't afford to/are going bankrupt. This is the consequence of the very policies the Mayor supports
