Just seen some slides on job planning for senior doctors A lot of words to simply say: Can you do less supervision, education & do more clinical work? In an environment where system is being flooded with more non-doctors and lesser qualified people- who need more supervision

The GMC's duty of candour has still not been discharged. Key information has not yet been delivered to the Court. This is essential. The judge want to understand GMC decision-making. anaesthetistsunited.com/what-havent-th…

A crucial High Court case over PAs and patient safety begins today.    With @TheBMA support, @AnaesUnited and the parents of Emily Chesterton are challenging the GMC over its failure to properly regulate PAs (physician associates) bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

🚨There is almost no evidence that employing physician associates in the NHS is safe or that they improve patient care - that’s according to a new review from Oxford University @AnaesUnited will be back in court in May to fight for patient safety and urgently need our help

The fundamental issue surrounding the lack of informed consent that arises from the MAPs project.👇🏼 The wilful blurring of lines between doctors and MAPs is a risk to patients. Patients have the right to be fully informed and to decline consent, Emily was robbed of that right.

Ms Mackenzie further notes that Emily had been unable to provide informed consent during her consultations with the PA since she had been unaware that the person she was seeing was not a doctor.

My view of Letby remains that of all the possible explanations for the babies’ collapses and deaths, deliberate harm is the least likely. There are far more likely explanations, backed by better clinical and statistical evidence. Unless the police can produce the additional…

Many nurses seem not to be aware of it, or perhaps they are aware but unwilling to exercise it; But their potential collective industrial power, if fully organised and relentlessly exerted would be insurmountable. It’s time RNs organise through the RCN✊🏼 theguardian.com/society/2025/m…
