Gun violence and domestic violence often go hand in hand and threaten the lives of victims, their families, and even law enforcement. At last night’s #WearOrange vigil at City Hall, I called on our community to stand together against domestic violence to help save lives. 🟧
As City Attorney, I’ve fought to pass safe storage laws, reform our broken criminal background check system, and take guns out of the hands of violent criminals. There’s so much more to do, and we need everyone in this fight. #WearOrange today to show your support 🟧
The City of Columbus has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its cuts to infectious disease funding during a rise in measles outbreaks across the country, including in Ohio. nbc4i.co/449fg5x?utm_me…

The chaos in Washington is: ❌ Killing jobs ❌ Threatening local investments ❌ Stalling community-based projects Here in Columbus, DOGE seems to be targeting a data-driven tree planting initiative just because it’s in a historically Black neighborhood. We won’t stand for it.
A child is fighting for his life because a dog owner failed to secure his dangerous animals. That’s inexcusable. My office will prosecute this case to the fullest extent possible and continue to advocate for stronger state laws to hold problem dog owners accountable.
The assault on the federal workforce is emblematic of the danger of the Trump Administration: everything is done in the extreme. We’re taking action to support workers and protect essential government functions that our residents rely on every day.
Columbus faces a number of real challenges, but our neighbors, police, and community leaders are committed to working together to shape the world class city we all want to see. That’s one of many takeaways from tonight’s community safety meeting in police zone 5.
There are far too many obstacles for domestic violence survivors navigating our court system. That’s why I’ve proposed creating a domestic violence only court that would give survivors and their families immediate access to the services they need all in one place. 🎥: @nbc4i
The juvenile justice system isn’t working for repeat offenders who steal cars & guns and create chaos in our streets. We need reforms focused on accountability, prevention, and supporting police/judges to expand opportunities to turn their lives around and protect public safety.
I’m always looking for new ways to engage with the community and learn about the issues that matter most to you. This morning, I hosted my first “ask me anything” on Reddit. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the conversation!
Investing in domestic violence prevention and support for survivors is important for so many reasons, including our economy. My office prosecutes thousands of these cases every year and we’ll continue to do everything we can to support survivors and hold abusers accountable.
A new study estimates Ohio's economy loses more than $1 billion each year to costs associated with domestic violence, specifically intimate partner violence. nbc4i.co/3Xi7txP
Neighbors were rightly fed up with the crime and deadly violence taking place at 1298 E. Hudson St., and now, thanks to the work of the Property Action Team and @ColumbusPolice, this property is shut down—and the residents and families of Linden are safer for it.
As demolition of Eastland Mall begins, I’m optimistic about this site’s potential to be redeveloped. We’ve set an aggressive schedule to prep this site for the future and won’t hesitate to take action if owners fail to uphold their end of the deal.

Crews began demolishing Eastland Mall over the weekend about a week before city leaders plan to meet to begin crafting a new community plan for the neighborhood.
.@ColumbusPolice and the Property Action Team have done incredible work to improve living conditions at Wedgewood on the city’s west side. We’ll continue our all-of-the-above strategy to build on this progress—and we won’t hesitate to step in and take action if problems arise.
For the past seven years, I’ve had the honor of serving as your City Attorney. Thank you @DispatchAlerts for the opportunity to highlight the work my office does every day to protect public safety and shape a world class city. dispatch.com/story/news/loc…
Tonight, neighbors, community leaders, and law enforcement came together for a community safety meeting in Franklinton. We’ll continue to work alongside @ColumbusPolice and Code Enforcement to address challenges and strengthen public safety across every neighborhood.
