Starters solve dependency hell. Add only this: <dependency> <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId> <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId> </dependency> Boom - you get MVC, JSON, validation & Tomcat… fully configured. ⚡

Por eso a pesar de todo sigo prefiriendo ASPNET Core para desarrollo web, tu única dependencia es la plataforma .NET, todo corre sobre él y Blazor para el frontend, ya sea en su versión WASM o Server para SSR, y además es open source y cross-platform.

Yes. Use it in a client project. Nice to work with. Encourages you to don’t bloat controllers. Mvc usually stands for massive view controllers. :)

Yeah the advent of new web technologies made products like this obsolete - but Microsoft basically nuked it themselves with the creation of .NET - which implemented the model/view controller paradigm that was used in Visual C++ (and was awful, IMO).

In my day (2007-2015) it would have been WCF. (We used C# in a WPF frontend, WCF backend, ASP.NET MVC then Web API, and EF for data access [SQL mainly].)
