Excellent talk by @AfroditaMarcu on symptom appraisal and help seeking prior to recieving a cancer diagnosis during or shortly after pregnancy. Always good to see the pathways to treatment work by @Suzanne_Scott_ and @fmw22 being used. #BPOS2023

Conference ends with a really nice presentation by Yueh-Hsin Wang on cancer treatment in people with mental health disorders. Full paper here:onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… @EDavies72 @ccsph_kcl @kingsmedicine @KCLcancer_pharm @BPOSUK #BPOS2023
Overall - what a fantastic conference #BPOS2023. Lots of new learning for me especially the role of health psychology/behavioural interventions in cancer screening and tackling health inequalities.
Still a lot of work to be done around inequalities in cancer outcomes for people with severe mental illness - psychosocial care/approach often limited to anxiety/depression/distress. Food for thought about what integrated psycho-oncology services should look like. #BPOS2023
Looking forward to being a conf delegate at #uksbm2023 this week after being conf organiser at #BPOS2023 last week. Fabulous line up of speakers and it's so nice to be back Brum as it's my home city. I predict the Brummie accent will be in full force by the end of the day 😂
#BPOS2023 day 2 highlights for me: - the saga of cervical cancer screening @Jo_WallerKCL - cancer care in custody @spuddyjo - cancer in teens and young adults session - impact of preexisting MH diagnosis on cancer care
Ending #BPOS2023 day 1 with the most FIENDISH of quizzes by @FrankMPaul. Never felt so battered, entertained and impressed by a quiz before. Somehow managed to win - carried by @davidfrenchx @Jo_WallerKCL!
