100 years ago today, Robert R Wilson was born in Moncton, Canada, joining the RAF in 1938. Sadly he failed to return on 11 Aug 1940. We remember all Canadians who served in the RAF, including those of “The Few” during this 80th anniversary Battle of Britain year. #DetectandDefend

The @RAFBBMF Spitfire commemorates New Zealander Al Deere via the colour scheme of 54(F) Sqn. Awarded the DFC for gallantry over France May 1940, he was one of 127 known New Zealanders of The Few during the Battle of Britain. He retired from the RAF in 1967. #DetectAndDefend
