Something that was very surprising to me: #distroless images are not clean from vulnerabilities. Am I the only one who figured that distroless equals no vulnerabilities? Here is a scan I just did with Snyk that show the number of vulns:

#distroless is a set of very light @docker images provided by @google only able to execute an app in a certain language (no distro complete filesystem, package mgr...). Ideally you feed it with an app built in a previous image using a multistage build.

Pretty amazed how easy it is today to create tiny Docker images using distroless base images : Take gum, a tool to create awesome looking shell scripts : github.com/lgersman/pnpm-… The resulting image is less than 30 MB - without any extra effort 😍 #gum #docker #distroless
