#highfieldspshe Today we kicked off our core theme on relationships by drawing mind maps to show what we already know. Here we are traffic lighting different statements to show how confidently we might be able to discuss them at the beginning of our topic.
We’ve been thinking about how online bullying can make someone feel and about what we should do if we receive unkind messages online. Some very mature thinking in Class 4 this afternoon. #HighfieldsPSHE
#HighfieldsPSHE We discussed how important different factors were in making good viewing choices. We found out what U and PG ratings meant. We then gave our top tips for good viewing choices in a tv style news report.
#HighfieldsPSHE It was lovely watching and listening to the children discuss the meaning of friendship. We talked about how and where we might make friends and what it means to be a good friend.
#HighfieldsPSHE Body language. We discussed how facial expressions and body language can show how someone might be feeling. Excellent acting by the class. Can you name the emotions they are depicting?

In PSHE we’ve been thinking about how we can be responsible. Today, we focused on our responsibilities towards wildlife and we then made fatballs to help feed the birds in our school grounds 🐦 🥰 #HighfieldsPSHE
We listened to a story about Beegu; a little alien who ended up on Earth and didn’t feel welcome. We thought about what we could do to make someone feel like they belong. Once again, some very mature and sensitive responses from the wonderful souls in Class 4. #HighfieldsPSHE
We listened to a story about Azzi; a little girl who fled from a war torn country and settled in Britain. We thought about how she might have felt and how she could be helped to feel a sense of belonging. #HighfieldsPSHE
#HighfieldsPSHE We discussed how important sleep is and what might help us get a good night’s sleep. Also, we thought about what might be hindering us from sleeping well.
#HighfieldsPSHE Thank you very much to #Bonanzacreative #cadent for an engaging workshop on carbon monoxide safety. We learned so much and got to take away some amazing goodie bags which included those all important carbon monoxide monitors.

#HighfieldsPSHE We have been discussing dental health this week. We’ve looked at high sugar and low sugar foods - we were shocked when we saw the amount of sugar in a can of pop! We’ve also been creating our own guides to brushing teeth.
