I just opened up Ubuntu using #WSL on my Windows workstation, installed ImageMagick and #OpenImageIO Tools and made a mosaic with oiiotool. The trick is you have to set the DISPLAY to the IP of your Windows box and be running an X server, eg. sourceforge.net/projects/xming/

#OpenImageIO powers many CGI production renderer’s texturing subsystems today. Its python binding has nice integration with numpy, it’s so fast that my #OpenEXR dataloading tasks became memory speed bound (2/3)

The best library for manipulating #OpenEXR is unquestionably #OpenImageIO by @larrygritz, its python binding is the perfect tool if you work with FP images for Deep Learning. OIIO’s highly optimized backend makes it the perfect data loader for intensive training. (1/3）

Filtered importance sampling is another method to improve image based lighting. I haven't used @pixarsrenderman much, so I can't say for sure what it does and doesn't do. Filtered lookups in #Cycles could maybe be made possible via #openimageio.
