Good memories from the @BirkbeckUoL🦉/ @ismb_london for the @EMBO practical course for #cryoEM ❄️🔬. The next generation learned data processing with @cryosparc's Rich & Hannah, #RELION with Sjors (#OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience). Processing #CryoEM data ? Then #TryEverything👨💻
Arctica pumping out great data! This is a ~130KDa membrane protein from @TheCHLeeLab and Relion4 on-the-fly align it very well! #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience (And of course GoldGrids for best imaging!)
After some Python tinkering (pun intended) we have rln4 on the fly running! Real happy. Thanks to @SjorsScheres @ColinMPalmer @Guillawme @AlisterBurt for being open source enthusiasts and allow others to use their code. #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
This brings me an enourmous amount of joy. Thanks @SjorsScheres @biochem_fan & team. #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
10. Fast and easy-to-use #GPU-powered software! In 2022, we delivered updates that made our software more intuitive, faster, and more powerful. And we also updated our open API, because we believe that #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience.
Spectacular talk by @GrantCryoEMLab @UWBiochem about news on cisTEM! All test data is freely available at #EMPIAR! #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience #SharingIsCaring
I remember reading his Paper about tau filaments and Cryo-em before I joined EMBL as a PhD student. Now I have the honor to listen it in Person. @instructhub @SjorsScheres #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
Today we started discussing about hardware/software needs and setup for cryoEM. Nice talk by colleagues @jelykar from @AarhusUni and Stefan from @scilifelab, @Stockholm_Uni. Last slide about Free Software! #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
Finally, all the data processing was done with ctfind4 and Relion31 because we firmly believe #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
In addition to just thinking the work is cool, I'm really proud of the symbiotic relationship teamtomo.org has developed with the Lucas lab over the past year while they built their extensible implementation of 2DTM #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
Finally scripting on the FIB again this morning and did my first attempt at automated Waffle using SerialFIB (Perpendicular cut, nodge + lamella) during the #MandM2021 sessions. Needs some optimization and real world trial in cryo, but I like my wanna-be copper lamellae 😁
Why are we still permitting publication methods that don't provide source code and are hosted on non-functional servers? For me, this is one of the biggest issues in structural biology. #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Thank you for clarifying 👍 and thank you for all your efforts in cryo-EM! #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
I am very grateful to @rfleiro and @SjorsScheres for endless advice and suggestions on cryoEM. This structure was integrally done with ctffind4 and Relion4 because we believe: #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
In a new Science study, researchers present #RoseTTAFold—an #AI network that produces structure predictions with accuracies approaching those of DeepMind’s AlphaFold2. The tool’s code is freely available. Read more: fcld.ly/xgy73r8
The code will be fully open-source under BSD-3 license after a closed beta where we'll test and debug in a few different contexts and polish the overall experience. #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
SmartScope.org manuscript accepted! The final version will be coming out soon and the code will be made public at that point. Stay tuned! We've been working on the docs and install process to make it easier to use. #CryoEM #Automation #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience

Great stuff! Suggestion: use Relion5,it will extract all available information specially if you have a mixture of free subunits/ribosome/ribosomes with/without factors. Do not hesitate to reach out should you need help. #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience
Ours and @slavicaPD lab first take on CryoEM of ribosome structure with new fast (minutes) isolation methodology. Shout out to Jessey Erath. Screening images and 2 hours into data collection you can see nice and valuable ribosomes.
Encountered any issues? Have suggestions or want to contribute? Check out the GitHub page or contact me directly. I hope this update proves helpful and streamlines your daily data processing! As always, #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience. Repo link: github.com/dzyla/Follow_R…

Finally, the optimized #Python code should work faster, and changes to the @GoHugoIO server allow smooth operation from remote workstations. The code, as always, is #opensource because #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience! 5/6

On a side note, obviously the moment we have this up and running we will be developing a driver for SerialFIB (GitHub.com/sklumpe/Serial…) that communicates with it, because #OpenSoftwareAcceleratesScience . Also some other machine drivers maybe in the making 😉#TeamTomo #PFIB #FIB
