Without reforming the H-1B/L-1 visa program that created this problem in the first place, handing out “permanent EADs” isn’t going to solve the issue of indentured servitude & wage suppression as employers would still be able to import more new eager H-1B/L-1 visa workers.
Another reason I like PERMANENT EAD (inclusive of #DALCA): it removes all uncertainty for all GCbacklogged. No worries about visiting India. Also job mobility and wages go up for all US Tech workers. Ends artificial bondage to a job.
Pretty simple really, just fill permanent jobs with full or part-time workers. You don't pay the loading and workers get rights. People have had enough of a third of the workforce with no sick leave or holiday pay. No more "permanent casual" rorts
