The September #PrePAREDProject blog has now been released with details of ongoing data analyses following summer fieldwork, and how these will be used to aid our understanding of predator and prey interactions and the effects of offshore wind farms. ➡️bit.ly/3ZSfImq
Fish tagging in the Moray Firth for the #PrePAREDProject 🐟 By implanting tags into fish caught within offshore wind farms, they can be tracked acoustically. This will assess how turbine foundations at operational Moray Firth wind farms may alter the behaviour of demersal fish.
Research for the #PrePAREDProject continues with surveys within the Firth of Forth recording fish and seabird distribution and behaviour both inside and outside of wind farms. Read more on the last survey in the July blog here: bit.ly/4dbUrb6
Back to work after a busy week at the International Statistical Ecology Conference in Swansea! It was great to share our work on the #PrePAREDProject, and discuss developments in modelling animal movement & behaviour. 🐟🐧🌊 bioss.ac.uk/news-events/bi… #ISEC2024 @ISEC_stats_ecol
Check out our report (and slides from our Annual Knowledge Exchange Meeting) on progress in the #PrePAREDProject so far! 🌊

Fieldwork for the #PrePAREDproject is essential for studying the interactions between • seabirds 🦅 • marine mammals 🐬 • fish 🐟 around #renewableenergy developments 🌊🚢
Fish tracking receivers all set up & ready to collect data on how fish behave around wind turbines in the #MorayFirth for the #PrePAREDProject #trackingnotslacking 🐟🐟 Funding by: @TheCrownEstate, Offshore Wind Evidence and Change programme, @CrownEstateScot
Today is #EnergyDay at #COP27 - a great opportunity to highlight the #PrePAREDproject - a unique & collaborative research project that helps ensure #offshorewind developments happen in the right place, in the right way & at the right pace and scale 🌬️🌊
Work on the #PrePAREDproject is progressing with 7 #offshorewind farm sites now surveyed using our #MarineResearchVessel #AlbaNaMara Data collected as part of the project is essential to improve our understanding of the effects of offshore wind farms on marine food webs 🦠🐟🐬
